The FSESO is currently seeking Board members to support the modernization of our governance system.

With the increased public scrutiny around firearms ownership, there is a need to ensure the highest standard in the delivery of firearms safety training.  The FSESO is committed to: Leadership, Safety, and Education.

Our Mission:  The FSESO will sustain public confidence, promote public safety, and encourage the responsible use of firearms by ensuring professional, effective, comprehensive and standard delivery of firearms safety training and testing through our members.

Our Vision:  The FSESO is respected as the premier provider of firearms safety education in Canada, valued for its leadership, professionalism, and effectiveness in supporting delivery of the Canadian Firearms Education program and promoting safe and responsible firearms use across Canada.

The FSESO was founded in 1994 by firearms enthusiasts passionate about firearms safety.  The FSESO operates under a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, authorizing the FSESO to manage the delivery of the Canadian Firearms Safety Course and the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course in Ontario. Our instructors are designated by the Chief Firearms Office to teach and examine the Canadian Firearm Safety Course (CFSC) and/or the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course.  Public safety is our number one priority.  We believe that everyone needs to understand the basics of firearms safety.
